Stopped in here while traveling. Was feeling a little sleepy. Wanted a quick sandwich and caffeinated beverage. This place was stellar! The homemade chips were amazing. The food was brought out quickly and was delicious. I can't say enough about the top-notch experience. Too bad I'm not a local - this would be my go-to dive!

Traveling down 75 my belly started grumbling. Instead of stopping at your typical fast food places, we looked up places to eat in Lake City. We found Ray's had good reviews. It's a little way off of 75 but not too far to be inconvenient. I ordered the bacon cheddar burger and fries. The food was fresh and the wait was short. The burger was better than average but not the best burger I've ever had. I was not a fan of the fries. My partner in crime ordered the steak and cheese sandwich with the tots. This sandwich was super yummy and the tots were a nice change from fries. It was definitely worth the extra 1/2 mile to eat there. My only regret is that I didn't partake of the pie. I love pies.

The food was meh. The service was horrible -- wait staff seemed annoyed about being there and argued about giving me a cup for tap water for my two year old since I hadn't bought her her own meal. It looks really cute when you first walk in with lots of candy and toys to buy. My husband had the hamburger. He said it was adequate for fast food . I had a fried chicken salad which was mostly Iceberg lettuce with store bought dressing. They do have tater tots which is a plus.

Stopped in on a trip from GA. Most of Lake City is just fast food crap. Rays has a great Italian sandwich and pretty good burgers. And wow are they fast.

Ray's is a great place to go for a burger or deli sandwich for lunch, food always comes out quickly, the line may seem intimidating at times but it moves quite rapidly. One of my favorite sandwiches is the Ben's steak-n-cheese with cream cheese and provolone. Their burgers also are worth a try!

Their new burger creations is a welcome update to the menu. The decor is like a Wild West general store and is great for workingman's lunch, or casual family dinner. I tried the "Big Hoss" burger today and it was exceptional. Fried pickles and ranch topped on to two fresh ground beef patties. Best burger I have had here yet!

After a three mile hike, we were both starving! Mostly because we left the house without eating breakfast... just coffee and that was not enough to keep me going! My honey found this place on YELP! It had great reviews, so he surprised me (he wouldn't tell me where we were going) and when we pulled up and I seen 'Ray's Candy Barrell'... I was like a fat kid in a candy store! LITERALLY! We browsed the candy and when he was able to pull me away from all of the deliciousness... we made our way to the counter to order some grub. I opted for the chicken strips with siracha sauce wrap with a side of potato salad. The wrap was yummi, but not enough heat for my taste. and I like my tater salad warm and this was very cold. But I'm just weird like that... it's a German thing! Don't get me wrong, it was delish! Just woulda been awesome sauce if it were warm! My honey got a burger and it looked devine! and he got some big ole onion rings too... he like his choice. When all my food was gone, with a full tummy, we made our way back to the candy! There was so much to choose from but after just eating all of that food... I wasn't craving so much junk. However!!! I did get a dark chocolate pretzel and it was gone before we left the parking lot! He got some... dang... I don't remember! But they were yummi too and we stil have a few. Check his review because I'm sure he mentions whatever they are! We will be back... they serve breakfast and I wanna try it!

Rays Deli & Grill has a very nice decor. Very southern decor. The staff is great! It is a family restaurant and ran by the family. And best of all. They treat you like family! Another great thing is this restaurant is perfect for lunch break they are very quick. Ray wants to be known for speed and he definitely is! The candy barrel is a very cool addition. Make sure you bring your kids in! Of course if your planning on getting some candy. They have fudge too and some great honey. I actually get my honey here. Nothing like it in LC. Follow their Instagram & Facebook they post their new food items there and update often. Their Italian Dip is the best. that isn't typically on the menu but gets brought back as a specialty item from time to time.

Really cool place!!! I am from out of town and found this place on yelp. I was very pleased, the corn nuggets were great and this is the first restaurant I have ever been to that has diet mt dew on tap.

Ray's has really improved since it's opening, now they advertise fresh produce and that really makes a difference. If you are hungry and adventurous you should try the ridiculous burger, which has grilled cheese sandwiches instead of buns, and it has enough calories to last you a week, but it's worth it. My favorites are the Ben's steak and cheese or the grilled chicken ranch wrap. Ray's has very friendly and fast service.

Nice place with some very good burgers & wraps are good too. Took my family there & my boys gave the chicken tenders a thumbs up (they are the tough to please crowd). I was just happy it was made from real chicken & not that fake stuff.

Good hand pattied burger, Onion rings in beer batter also worth getting. I found out about this place online while searching for a good restaurant on my trip from Tallahassee to Jacksonville, was a great mid point stop. Only a few miles off I-10 I would definitely recommend. The decor is like being in a log cabin in the mountains which I also enjoyed.

Amazing food!! I am a major foodie and I have to say there's not ONE thing on the menu that isn't to die for! My personal favorites are the sriracha chicken and the southwest turkey warp! The laid back atmosphere and rustic mountain decor make you feel as if you are tucked away high in the mountains. :))

Tasty Fresh. Burgers, sandwiches , wraps and sides all perfectly done. Corn nuggets with jalapeño dip a must have side. They even have a delicious Gyro ! Fresh baked rye, white, wheat and sub bread. Wish there was one in Jacksonville. Do not miss this affordable gem anytime you get near Lake City. Right across from the fairgrounds.

Visited this restaurant twice and on both occasions I was wowed by their food and service. They're burgers are super fresh from the meat to the bun and they havecsome unique concoctions. I've had their sides of homemade fried chips, onion rings, and fries and were very pleased with each. They have a menu full of other options than just burgers, and their desserts are to die for! I've had the chocolate peanut butter pie and French silk pie and both were rich and yummy. This is now my favorite place to dine in Lake City as it's a big step above any other burger joint I've ever been to. They have a fun classic candy shop too with delicious fudge. You will not be disapointed!

We took a chance on Ray's on our way through Lake City because of all the positive reviews on Yelp. We were NOT disappointed! It was clean and tidy with very friendly service. The food was tasty and fresh. I had the El Rio sandwich on homemade white sub bread, and it was delicious. The side of corn nuggets were like little bits of deep fried creamed corn loveliness. The peanut butter torte was addictive and the mint brownie ranks up there with some of the best I've had. And the kids loved browsing the candy store. My only regret is that we couldn't stay for breakfast the next morning because I know their biscuits and gravy must be amazing! Ray's is totally worth the extra three minutes off the Interstate.

We were looking for a place to stop to eat while passing through a couple months ago, and, wound up here, having found it highly rated on yelp. It's a little further off the beaten path than a lot of the establishments, if you're coming from the interstate, but, still not really that far, and totally worth seeking out. This place is a real gem for little old Lake City, FL. It's very casual and mostly simple lunch type menu items. It has the feel of a BBQ place inside, but, a very clean, new, and tastefully decorated one. In fact, it is in what appears to be a very new building. We had some kind of a turkey sandwich that was very good as were the other things we ordered, not all of which I can accurately recount now. It's not a "five-star" restaurant in the usual sense of the word, but, I give it five stars, because, for what it is, and where it is, it's outstanding - a place you're really thankful you found when you pass right by all the other mediocre joints to seek this one out, just a short jaunt off the main thoroughfare. Selfishly, I would really like them to stay in business, so I can continue to stop there when passing through; so go try it out - look at the other Yelp reviews - I don't think you'll be disappointed. Plus, they have a nice old-fashioned candy store adjoining the restaurant with a nice selection and even some good home-made fudge they had us sample while browsing for candy.

We were just passing through so we were looking for a place to stop quickly for take-out. This place is about a mile off the interstate with several stop lights you have to go through, but the line was short and the service was very fast! We got the club sandwiches with potato salad which were both very favorable. The sandwiches were a good sized portion and seemed to have fresh vegetables on them. It's more expensive than a fast food place, but the quality is so much better. And it was nice to have a locally owned restaurant to support in the midst of a tons of restaurant chains that we passed on the way there. Additionally, the bathrooms were very clean and the staff was friendly! Would definitely go again and would recommend to anyone who is passing through but not in a huge hurry.

I recently ordered take-out from Ray's Deli and Grill. They are a new restaurant, located next to Lake CIty Bowl and across from the fairgrounds. I decided to order a gyro ( comes with tzatziki sauce, tomato, lettuce, onion on fresh pita) with seasoned fries. I noticed that there was a glass case filled with slices of cakes and baked goods, so I also got a piece of peanut butter torte. The gyro was very tasty, the tzatziki ( Greek cucumber-yogurt sauce) was authentic, and the pita was super fresh and nicely grilled. I found the seasoned fries to be nice and crispy, with just the right amount of seasoning. I personally feel the gyro would benefit from the addition of feta cheese, but I would still order it again. The stand out of my meal was the peanut butter torte. It was like heaven, quite possibly the best dessert I have ever had in the Gainesville/Lake City/ Jacksonville area. It was silky and creamy peanut butter filling on a chocolate graham cracker crust and covered with milk chocolate frosting. I definitely will be returning to pick up more slices. Overall this is a nice addition to Lake City's dining options !

We were on our way back from Anna Maria Island vacation, decided to stop here because of do many good reviews. i was not impressed. Decor was very cute! Candy store next door has good fudge, and candy selection wasn't to bad. The food came out fast, good service; but our burgers were very bland, and not exactly cooked all the way. The onion rings weren't bad, but nothing to brag about. It filled us up to a certain point, then we got candy to add some flavor!
